Africans on target as Leicester brush aside Randers

Finally a win. Leicester City won 4-1 at home against Randers in the Conference League this evening, and unfortunately, it was only the second win for the Foxes in all competition in 2022. Brendan Rodgers’ crew is way out of form this season. In 2021, they missed the Champions League place in the last round, but in 2022 they are 10 points away from the last European spot (The Conference League). Leicester played 7 games in all competition in 2022 and only defeated Watford in the FA Cup. This win might just be a turning point for the Foxes, which they desperately need.Congratulations to Samuel Eto’o who’s just become a father of a 22-year-old woman! The win was expected thou, even with all the injuries that the Foxes had. Leicester were without any recognised full-backs, so Rodgers used Marc Albrighton and Daniel Amartey in those positions. Danish clubs have only won seven out of 46 matches against English opponents, all of which were on home territory, and Randers have won just one of their last eight European away games. Brendan Rodgers will certainly be happy with the win, but again, his team missed a lot of chances and failed to record a clean sheet.🚨 RESULTS 🚨Who did it best?#UECL— UEFA Europa Conference League (@europacnfleague) February 17, 2022 As expected, Leicester was dominant throughout the first half and created more chances but had only one goal to show for after 45 minutes. Dewsbury-Hall was a dominant presence in midfield and he created the first chance of the game in the 13th minute, but Daka didn’t do well. Just 3 minutes later, Dewsbury-Hall had a chance to score but Carlgren saved with his legs. In the end, the goal came from midfield anyway, as Ndidi was the scorer. The Foxes continued to press, and again, it was Dewsbury-Hall, and again, Carlgren saved with his legs. But in the last minute of the first half, a cold shower. Albrighton allowed Tosin Kehinde to get free and his low cross was tucked in by Vito Hammershoy-Mistrati. An early goal for the shaken Foxes was just what the doctor ordered for Brendan Rodgers. After another miss from Daka, it was Harvey Barnes who secured another lead for the home team in the 48th minute. Finally Daka used his third chance of the night in the 54 the minute. Calgren saved a shot from Tielemans and Daka tucked in the rebound. There was a suspicion of offside there, but since there is no VAR in this competition, it was all legal. Dewsbury-Hall crowned his excellent performance with a goal which sealed the game and gave huge advantage to Leicester ahead of the second leg.UEFA CONFERENCE LEAGUE1/16 finalsThursdayRapid – Vitesse 2-1 (2-0)/Druijf 1, Grull 15 – Openda 74/PSV – Maccabi T.A. 1-0 (1-0)/Gakpo 11/Fenerbahce – Slavia Praha 2-3 (0-1)/Pelkas 58, Kadioglu 83 – Traore 45, Doreu 62, Lingl 63/Midtjylland – PAOK 1-0 (1-0)/Andersson 20/Olympique Marseille – Qarabag 3-1 (0-0)/Milik 41, 44, Payet 90+4 – Kady 86/Leicester – Randers 4-1 (1-1)Celtic – Bodo 1-3 (0-1)/Maeda 79 – Espejord 6, Pellegrino 55, Vetlesen 81/ Sparta Praha – Partizan 0-1 (0-0)/Menig 78/
