Kane-Son duet is back and they stunned Pep & Co at the Etihad

Somewhere in Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp is making toasts with his pint of beer. ‘Hail to Son, long live Harry Kane’ he shouts. The famous Spurs duo finally found their rhythm, so much needed this season, and made a huge favor to Liverpool, who are the winners from this huge Spurs win. The Reds are now only 6 points away from Manchester City, but with a game in hand, and the Premier League title race is back on: Manchester City – Spurs 2-3.Tonight we saw a marvelous game, full of high rhythm and pace, and what’s most important, goals and chances. We saw 5 goals but should have seen at least two more, but keepers Ederson and Lloris did their part. Spurs took the lead, and City twice came back, but not the third. The Citizens showed weak against powerful Spurs counter-attack, led by the best duo in the Premier League: Harry Kane and Son. In tonight’s game, Kane scored two goals, and Son had two assists, but let’s not forget another player – Dejan Kuluševski. Juventus winger scored the first and assisted with the winning goal. Quite alright for the player playing his only second game since signing for Tottenham.  ⚽️ Ilkay Gundogan – most career goals, by opponent5️⃣ West Brom, TOTTENHAM4️⃣ Borussia M’gladbach pic.twitter.com/1SBMc6Vr6l— Sky Sports Statto (@SkySportsStatto) February 19, 2022 The good people of Manchester were still looking for their seats at the stadium when Spurs suddenly took the lead. It was a quick counter which was started by Kane, followed by Son, who had the opportunity to shoot, but was unselfish and passed the ball to Kulusevski, who scored his debut goal in a Tottenham shirt. 1-0, fourth minute. Basically, the home team hasn’t even warmed up yet, and when they did, chances started to come one after another. Cancelo had two long shots which ended just near the post, then Gundogan hit the bar before finally scoring the equalizer in the 33rd minute. Sterling started the action from the left side with a cross which Lloris only managed to block, but the rebound came to Gundogan who was totally unmarked from and blasted the ball into the net from 5 meters for 1:1.

After the break, Spurs continued with there tactics: play firm in defense and look for the counter. The first one was in the 54th minute, when one of the best tandems in the Premier League Kane – Son nearly scored, but Ederson was there with a fine save. But 5 minutes later, nobody could save the Brazilian. Son came from the left and just found his pal Kane with a perfect cross, shock at the Emirates 2-1 for the guests. Kane could have scored two more goals, but he made a stunning miss from 5 meters (or to be precise, he shot right at Ederson), and then scored, but was offside. Then it was time for Lloris, and the Frenchman made a parade of the day to deny Gundogan in the 66th minute. But Spurs managed to defend all the attacks until the injury time, when Romero’s handball was declared penalty after a VAR check. Mahrez was precise and it was 2:2. But, Conte would have the last laugh as Harry Kane again scored, again from a cross, again from 5 meters, again with City defenders not covering the best Spurs strikers. Totally deserved a win for Tottenham.
