Former Western Stima boss Paul Ogai has been appointed as the new head coach of National Super League (NSL) side Kibera Black Stars, Mozzart Sport can confirm.Having been out of a managerial role since February 2021 where he walked out on Stima, Ogai makes a comeback into the coaching scene after more than one year out without being actively involved in managing capacity.“The deal is as good as done with only small details left to be addressed. Having played against them during my time at Coast Stima, Western Stima and Palos, it is a club that I know very well. They are an ambitious side that is yearning to get to the next level which I believe I can achieve,” the coach told Mozzart Sport.The tactician had left Stima in April 2019 before joining Coast Stima three months later where he was at the helm until the 2019/2020 season was cut short by the novel coronavirus pandemic. Upon his departure from the coastal based side, the gaffer rejoined Western Stima in November 2020 where he stayed till February.Western Stima part ways with ‘volunteer’ OgaiDespite not being actively involved as a coach for the last one year, Ogai says he has been keeping himself sharp with stints that has seen him go back to Kisumu All Stars to render his expertise.“Since the spell at Stima, I have been to various clubs including All Stars where I have been helping the team. Those stints have helped me remain active and I am ready to take on the challenge that now lies ahead,” the coach added.In terms of the task at hand, Ogai remained confident that he has what it takes to earn the club promotion to the top flight league. As things stand, Black Stars are in 11th on 16 points, eleven points behind log leaders Fortune Sacco and seven points behind the promotion places after just twelve games played this season.“When you look at the gap that is there, it is really small margins at the moment. I believe with hard work we can achieve the desired results we want.
