The Council of East and Central African Football Associations (CECAFA) is seeking to have its headquarters in Kenya and will engage the Kenyan government on a possibility on the same.This was one of the things discussed during the CECAFA Annual General Assembly held in Arusha, Tanzania, last week, with all the members resolving that a strong team led by the CECAFA President, Wallace Karia will travel to Kenya to interact with the government about a long term agreement.Uganda will host this year’s CECAFA Senior Women’s Championship after being handed the rights during CECAFA’s Annual General Assembly held on Friday last week.https://t.co/EdbikvfhwK— Mozzart Sport Kenya (@MozzartSportKe) February 28, 2022 Kenya was the only country in the region that was not represented in the assembly, with the event coming barely a day after global football body FIFA cracked the whip and suspended FKF for government interference.“We need a strong CECAFA team to go and meet the Kenya government to discuss a long term agreement, but also to see that our offices are re-opened so that we can access documents,” Moses Hassim Magogo, the Uganda FA President said during the Assembly as quoted by the body’s portal.The development comes after CECAFA failed to access its offices and documents locked up by the Kenyan government at Kandanda House while putting the FKF facility under key and lock in November last year.CECAFA had pitched tent at Kandanda house last year in the lead up to the CAF Women’s Champions League regional qualifiers but they have been inaccessible since November.Members of the regional body agreed to lobby both CAF and FIFA as they try to secure a permanent home to house their matters as they currently do not have a permanent place.
