Bandari pip Talanta to end winless streak

Bandari saw off FC Talanta 2-0 at Kasarani Annex to end their nine-match winless streak and record their second FKF Premier League win in 2022.This was the first win for Anthony Kimani at the helm of Bandari’s technical bench since taking over earlier in the year. Before this match, Bandari had won only one match in the calendar year, doing so only in the 1-0 win over Sofapaka in their first match of the year in January.Umaru Kasumba opened the scoring for the Dockers after just four minutes in the game, capitalizing on a communication lapse between the goalkeeper and the defenders to slot home the opener. The loss to Vihiga Bullets over the weekend was still fresh for Talanta and they came into the match with hopes of getting back to winning ways, only for their losing streak to be extended. Chasing the game in every aspect, Talanta hauled long balls hoping to find their wide attackers but Bandari’s fullbacks were all alert.Mwisho wa mchuano: Talanta 0-2 Bandari.⚽ @KasumbaUmaru 4’⚽ @fellyMulumba2 77’#BandariNiYetu pic.twitter.com/CzHFaro1Kv— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) March 9, 2022 Ken Kenyatta was forced to make a change towards the end of the first half, withdrawing Muhammad Hassan and throwing in Edwin Lavatsa with five minutes to play in that period. Talanta started the second half with intent, pushing for the equalizer, and had much of their play in Bandari’s half. Bandari defended well and hit Talanta on the break whenever an opportunity presented itself.Felly Mulumba had a chance to double the lead for the visitors with a free header but he missed at a point where the scoring would have been easier than blasting wide. The defender atoned for his miss moments later, converting from yet another Kevin Kimani corner to cushion the lead.
