Muluya: Concentration lapses hurting Sharks’ title ambitions

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya says they will have to sort their concentration in matches after they once again conceded a late equalizer against Mathare United on Wednesday afternoon at the Kasarani Annex.Sharks were on course of a win before the bottom-placed side, leveled the scores eight minutes from time to pick a point in a one-all draw Alphonse Omija had opened the scoring for Sharks before substitute Eugene Wethuli earned the Slum Boys a point. Mathare had lost their last three games before facing Sharks. For a second game in a row, Sharks conceded a late equalizer. It was a similar case against Wazito FC where Rooney Onyango’s late goal earned Wazito a point in the game.Muluya expressed his dissatisfaction after the stalemate against the Slum Boys tearing into his players for concentration lapses.⏹️ Full TimeWe settle for a point.🤝 @Betway_KE#WeAreSharks #BetwaySharks pic.twitter.com/LnqfmhVfgX— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) March 9, 2022 “Conceding again in the last minute as we did against Wazito is something to sort out with the team. We’ve been leading in our matches only to concede in the last five minutes and that’s not encouraging at all. Again it boils down to concentration lapse. Why should we concede when the referee is about to blow the final whistle?” he stated. With Homeboyz opening an 11-point gap at the top of the FKF Premier League, Muluya says they cannot afford to drop points any further. He says to remain in contention for the title they have to win all their remaining matches.“We have dropped enough points and it is now upon us to ensure that we collect maximum points from our remaining encounters. It’s very sad losing points when our title rivals Kakamega Homeboyz are busy winning all their matches. That makes it difficult for us to stay in contention,” he added.Next for Sharks is an away match against Tusker FC on Saturday at the Ruaraka Grounds, a game Muluya is eager to see his charges pick the maximum points.
