Kimani plotting to trip Homeboyz in their title procession

Bandari FC head coach Anthony Kimani says his side will be out to build on midweek’s 2-0 win over FC Talanta by beating Kakamega Homeboyz when the two teams meet at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Sunday afternoon. The Dockers ended their nine-match winless run with a win over the Talanta in Nairobi. It was also Kimani’s first win as Bandari’s interim coach. He took over a fortnight ago when the club opted to part ways with Rwandese tactician Andre Casa Mbungo after a lengthy winless spell. On Sunday, Kimani welcomes Homeboyz, a side coached by former Bandari coach Bernard Mwalala to Mbaraki. When the two teams met in the first leg at Bukhungu, the match ended in a one-all draw but there was late drama in the game as Homeboyz were awarded a late penalty which they failed to convert, there were also accusations of poor officiating from the visitors.💬”Kakamega Homeboyz ni timu inayoongoza ligi kwa hiyo watakuja wakijiamini sana. Ni timu nzuri, na pia timu yetu ni nzuri. La muhimu kwetu ni kujiandaa na kuweka mikakati ya kuhakikisha kuwa tunapata matokeo mazuri.” – Anthony “Modo” Kimani.⚓💙#BandariNiYetu pic.twitter.com/mTudN9CuiK— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) March 11, 2022 Ahead of the match, the youthful tactician chose to ignore the first leg drama and says focus is on getting the job done at their backyard on Sunday afternoon.”We picked maximum points against FC Talanta after nine games without a win. We want to build on that win so that we can also beat Homeboyz. What happened at Bukhungu is behind us and our focus is just to win this game to move up in the table,” he told the Daily Nation.Despite trailing the league leaders by a whopping 15 points with 13 games left before the season comes to a close, Kimani believes that his team is still in the title race mix.”I am certain that no team has been crowned as champions yet, it’s still an open chase, and looking at the squad and fixtures, a top finish is still possible to achieve,” he added. The match kicks off at 3 PM.
