New APS Bomet head coach Charles Odera has set his eyes on helping the team earn promotion to the top tier this season.The former Harambee Stars defender was on Friday named APS’s new coach, replacing Benedict Wanjala who last month left the club for Mombasa Elite.He crossed over from Muhoroni Youth and his first game in charge of the law enforcers ended in a 3-1 defeat in the hands of Kibera Black Stars on Saturday afternoon. He has his work cut out and he says promotion to the top tier is the main goal of the season.”The team is in a good position on the table and my duty is to ensure that we maintain that good run. The goal is to play in the top-tier next season and I will try to improve the players end the team in general even further. We have players of exceptional quality who are capable of going all the way. The only challenge in the team at the moment is that we have some important players sidelined with injuries and we are hopeful that we can have some of them back soon,” he added.Saturday’s defeat to Black Stars and Fortune Sacco’s win over Zoo saw Fortune reclaim the top spot in the league as APS dropped to second on the log.
