Bandari go 5th after downing City Stars as Nzoia Sugar pip Vihiga Bullets

Bandari FC ascended to fifth on the FKF Premier League log after condemning Nairobi City Stars to a 1-0 defeat in a league match staged at the Mbaraki Sports Club on Thursday afternoon.Heading to the game, the Dockers were on a two-game winning streak after triumphs over FC Talanta and league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz. City Stars, on the other hand, had returned to winning ways over the weekend with a 2-1 success over Vihiga Bullets, this win ended their two-match losing streak. The first half was largely dominated by the hosts who kept knocking the ball around in such of space in what was proving to be a solid Simba wa Nairobi. City Stars on the other hand looked dangerous on the break and severally came close to catching the Dockers on the break.Abdallaaaaaah!! The winger rose high to bundle home a Benjamin Mosha cross from the right for a deserved Bandari halftime lead. The second half was an even affair with both teams going all out to get goals. Their efforts however yielded no fruits as the match was eventually settled by Hassan’s first-half strike. The two teams meet again in a fortnight for the return leg in Nairobi. At the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Nzoia Sugar’s resurgence continued with yet another win over Vihiga Bullets. A Felicien Okanda 11th minute strike is all the Millers needed to pick a win and in the process move further towards safety in the league, the attacker was set up by in-form James Kibande. Bullets will now travel to Sudi Stadium for the return leg clash against the Millers in a fortnight.11’| GOAAAAL! We take the lead. The pressure piles on Bullets, they conceded another corner. Once again Kibande took it and Okanda met it with a lovely header. 0-1#BulletsVsNzoia— NZOIASUGARFC (@nzoiasugarfc2) March 17, 2022
