Leeds United completed a jaw-dropping comeback to win 3-2 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League in a game dripped with drama from start to finish, as the Yorkshire team clinched a top-flight victory at Molineux for the first time since 1973. Bruno Lage’s side were aiming to make it three league wins in a row for the first time since January, against a lowly-Leeds outfit who tasted victory last time out following an eight-game winless run. In response to the rocking atmosphere in the stands, the contest began at blistering speed, and both sides saw early opportunities to break the deadlock as Rodrigo and Patrick Bamford fired agonisingly wide for the visitors, with Daniel Podence failing to get enough weight behind his strike leaving Illan Meslier untroubled.The high-octane start sadly caught up with Rúben Neves and Bamford, as the pair were taken off through injury, with both manager’s forced into changes after the 20-minute mark. Within moments of the alterations being made, substitute Trincão made an instant impact with his first touch, squaring to Jonny inside the box, who confidently stroked the ball past Meslier to give the home side the all-important lead. Robin Koch and Mateusz Klich were replaced as they were unable to continue.The influential Trincão was in fine form and could not be immobilised, as he exquisitely curled a precise left-footed shot into the corner of the net to extend Wolves’ advantage on the stroke of half-time.The course of the game was altered immediately in the second half when Raúl Jiménez was sent off following a nasty collision with Meslier, who was then replaced as Jesse Marsch was forced into a fourth change.
