Pamzo: Police will build on win over Gor Mahia

Kenya Police head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo has termed last weekend’s win over Gor Mahia a confidence boost and believes that his side can build on the triumph over the record league champions.Pamzo began his Police reign with an important win over his immediate former employer. Former Gor Mahia midfielder Francis Kahata and Clinton Kinanga found the back of the net as K’Ogalo lost in Kisumu for the first time in a long time. The win ended Police’s seven-match winless run in a game that they dominated and would have easily won by a bigger margin. For Pamzo, the result is a mark of better things that lie ahead for the law enforcers.“The win over Gor Mahia was definitely a big confidence boost for the players because we really played well in that game. It is almost impossible to dominate Gor in a game but we did that successfully and I can say the win has brought the much-needed lift and it has improved the players’ body language, they are very confident in training,” Pamzo told Mozzart Sport.@kenyapolicefc @Kahata10 @Officialfkfpl pic.twitter.com/6MDU9ukwri— KENYA POLICE FC (@kenyapolicefc) March 16, 2022 The tactician is also happy that the players already understand how he wants them to play. He opined that they had an identity against K’Ogalo.“One of the positive things so far is that the players have mastered how I want them to play, we already have an identity. Against Gor Mahia they played well, we pressed them well and ensured that they did not play their way and I am really satisfied with the strides made so far,” he added. On the quality of the playing unit, Omolo says he has a great team at his disposal. He says the blend of seasoned and young players in the team is healthy for the club and wants to continue improving the team.“I cannot lie; we have a very good team. There is a good balance of experienced and young players and they have blended well. The balance is good and my duty is now to ensure that I keep improving them both individually and as a team, we can only get better,” he concluded.Next for Police is an away match against AFC Leopards on Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium.
