Muluya discusses worrying injury situation at the club

Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya believes the numerous injuries that have rocked his team could be derailing their title charge after a five-match winless run. After a very positive start to the new season, Sharks have found the going tough in recent weeks, they are winless in the last five games and have particularly been unlucky in three of the five in which late goals from opponents have been denying them wins. The tactician has discussed the injury situation in his team. He says they cannot raise a full matchday squad at the moment. He plans to involve more fringe players in the coming matches.“At the moment we can’t even raise a team of eighteen players due to injuries and we also lost Alphonse Omija against Bidco and we just have to trust the players at our disposal and I can say that they are so far doing a good job, they are good players. It is also an opportunity for those who have not been playing to contribute, Keith Imbali got a chance against Bidco and played well, the like of Kyalo (Ken) will get a chance, I will basically give all those who have not been playing a chance,” he stated.🗣️| W.Muluya: “It’s worrying but we will work our socks off in the upcoming fixtures”Read yesterday’s match report⤵️📲https://t.co/M7PZaclYXk#WeAreSharks #BetwaySharks pic.twitter.com/n7kK1LKAyU— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) March 17, 2022 The tactician also believes that the recent fixture congestion could have played a part in the injuries. A week ago he says his team lost seven players to injuries during their league match against Tusker FC at the Ruaraka Grounds. They lost the game 1-0.“Against Tusker, for example, we lost seven players to injuries which is a strange thing and we hope after the break the fixture congestion will ease and we will be playing a game every week. When you have a team of 30 players and 13 of them get injured it means that maybe they have been pushed too much,” he added.Sharks will play Bidco United at home in a fortnight.
