The 2009 league champions Sofapaka have issued an elementary condition to be met by the Caretaker Committee before agreeing to play the league match against Ulinzi Stars that failed to kick off in January.Last week, the government installed committee ordered for the match that was initially to be played at Nakuru ASK grounds to be replayed but did not come out clear on the dates and venue.➡️ Ulinzi Stars FC Family 🗣 “Kwani Admin wetu alienda wapi?”😐➡️ Admin: Typing…😎#WeSoldierOn#GBUS📸 Courtesy pic.twitter.com/Te73xP1m4Z— Ulinzi Stars FC (@UlinziStarsFC) March 11, 2022 The game failed to kick off after Sofapaka raised concerns with the standards of the equipment of the ambulance provided by the Ulinzi who were the host.FKF Caretaker Committee orders for a replay of the league match pitting Ulinzi Stars and SofapakaSofapaka President Elly Kalekwa maintains that the club will only take to the pitch to play Ulinzi should the caretaker committee reimburse the logistical costs incurred in preparing and travelling to Nakuru.“We are ready to play Ulinzi at any given time. However, we will only face them if the committee refunds the costs we incurred in travelling to Nakuru. My expectation was the committee would give us three points and two goals for we played our role as opposed to our opponent who did not provide a well-equipped ambulance contrary to the rules,” he said.Asked on whether the team would honour the game should the committee take the game away from Nairobi, Kalekwa said the team will only leave Nairobi should the committee avail funds to meet the logistical needs.Recently, Ulinzi have been shifting bases due to lack of a home venue occasioned by the blacklisting of the ASK grounds by the committee. On Location, Thika Kick-Off vs Ulinzi Stars, 3PM #MozzartBet#wearehomeboyz#AbanaBeingo pic.twitter.com/MHEGmadyHd— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) March 17, 2022 The soldiers who have in the past operated at Afraha Stadium had earlier found a new home in Kericho Green Stadium but quickly shifted to Thika Stadium.“If the committee decides that the game will be played outside Nairobi, they will have to take care of the travelling costs. That will only happen if first they foot the bills we incurred back in January.” He stated.
