Shabana FC head coach Sammy Okoth is confident that his team can earn promotion to the top tier this season with the Kisii-based side currently third on the National Super League (NSL).The Glamour Boys have been on a good run since the seasoned tactician took over at the club a month ago and they to test defeat under the former Zoo FC and Vihiga United boss who returned to the club having turned out for them as a player.On Sunday, they played out to a one-all draw with league leaders Fortune Sacco at the Awendo Green Stadium and in an interview, the tactician spoke of his team’s promotion chances. He believes that his side has a chance of returning to the top tier if they remain consistent in the league. I made changes to my team against Fortune and happy we came out with a positive result,” he told Citizen Digital.Revisiting the game against the Kirinyiga based side, Okoth admitted that they faced a solid side and believes that the outcome is an indicator of the positive strides that they have made as a team.”Sacco (Fortune) is a good side and it’s no fluke they are number one in our division. The fact that we have played a draw against them indicates that we can go toe-to-toe against them,” he added.Next for the Glamour Boys is a match against Murang’a Seal. The St. Sebastian Park coached team is handled by former Shabana coach Vincent Nyaberi who will be keen on derailing his former side and reignite his team’s chances of earning promotion to the top tier.
