Ambani picks positives from win over KCB

Wazito FC head coach Fred Ambani noted positives in his team’s 2-1 win in a friendly game against KCB that was played in Karen on Saturday afternoon.Goals from Curtis Wekesa and Tyson Otieno helped Wazito pick a confidence-boosting win over the Bankers. The two teams already met twice this season with the Bankers picking identical 2-0 wins on both legs.Wazito have lost their last three games to Tusker, KCB and Gor Mahia and they now prepare for the return leg clash against the record league champions and Ambani believes the friendly game against Zedekiah Otieno’s side was a good build-up for the team.”It was good preparation for our return leg game against Gor Mahia in a week’s time. We also used the match to gauge some things and also implement some new strategies and plan that we had in mind and I can say that the plan was largely successful, we noted some drawbacks which we intend to work on in the course of the week, ” he told Mozzart Sport.Earlier today we took on Premier League side, KCB FC in a friendly match in Karen. We picked a 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Tyson Otieno and Curtis Wekesa.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/w3W54zCEIH— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) March 26, 2022 A number of fringe players also saw some playtime and Ambani was impressed by the display of the players who haven’t featured much this season. He says it provides him with a big pool of selection.”It was also a game that I handed players who haven’t been featuring much and to be honest, a good number of them impressed me and I think that’s a good headache for any coach because it shows that we have good options and that gives us a big pool for selection, ” he added.Ambani’s charges haven’t found the back of the net in the last three games and the tactician was impressed by the number of opportunities that they had against KCB.”Another positive thing I noted is that we created so many good chances. I think that’s an area that we have been struggling in but against KCB we had a good number of scoring chances and I believe that if we do the same in our league matches we will be in a position to score many goals,” he continued.Readying ourselves for next weekend’s return leg league action against Gor Mahia#Wazito4life pic.twitter.com/nJH05BxQ0I— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) March 25, 2022 On his team’s efforts to cheat on the drop, he believes that it is just a matter of time before they move to safety.”We have to keep working hard, we have just over ten games left and everyone at the club understands that we are not in a good position and I believe that we are pulling in the same direction. I believe that it’s just a matter of time before we just get that consistent run, “he added.
