President Kenyatta challenges Governors to emulate KDF efficiency in stadium construction

President Uhuru Kenyatta has challenged county leaders to fast-track the completion of projects, specifically stadium projects that might be taking longer than expected.Speaking during the commissioning of the Ulinzi Sports Complex at the Lang’ata Barracks on Tuesday, the president said that construction of the complex had been done efficiently within less than two years, calling on county governments that have running projects to ensure they follow the footsteps of the Kenya Defence Forces.1/3 President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged sportsmen and women to continue playing a leading role as ambassadors of unity and peaceful coexistence in the country. @kdfinfo pic.twitter.com/m5zhw9jFMx— State House Kenya (@StateHouseKenya) April 13, 2022 Ulinzi Sports Complex has among others a 10,000-seater football stadium equipped with a running track that is already complete and ready for use, an aquatic center with an Olympic size swimming pool, an indoor arena, and a gym, with the rest of the complex set to be completed by the end of the year.’Leaders in different areas, more so the governors should emulate what the KDF has done. Counties have money and personnel to help improve their infrastructure and sporting facilities, they should embrace the two and by doing so they will see Kenya go to limits that will shock the world. It is possible with discipline, commitment, and hard work. Even with limited resources, we can achieve a lot as witnessed.
