Ex-Mathare United boss Frank Ouna reveals why he took pay cut for Rwandese job

The miracle working former Mathare United boss Frank Ouna has revealed the reason as to why he took a pay cut to be able to join Rwandese top tier side Musanze FC where he has now been coaching since September 2021.At the tail end of the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League season, Ouna miraculously prevented a doomed Mathare from suffering the whims of relegation as he cast his spell on the slum boys that saw the team fork out 4 wins in the last five games to finish the season in a safe 15th place that secured their spot in the top tier.Having achieved that feat, the former Wazito boss moved on to Rwanda at the start of their 2021/2022 league campaign where he was unveiled as the new head coach.We are delighted to announce our new head coach Frank Ouna Onyango. I did this to enrich my CV and to open more doors for myself as well as Kenyan coaches. I am hoping at the end of things, it will open more opportunities for Kenyan gaffers and that I will be able to see three or four more tacticians from home competing with me here,” Furo, as he is commonly known, told Mozzart Sport.Having taken over at Musanze at the start of the 2021/2022 Rwandese top-flight Premier League season, the Kenyan coach has gone beyond expectation in leading the team as he has recorded 8 wins, 8 draws and seven defeats in his first 23 league games in charge, consequently getting the club upto seventh place on the log table.3.05 Gor Mahia 2.65 Tusker 2.65 Frank Ouna earns glowing plaudits for miracle works in RwandaRecently, due to those performances, Ouna was named to be among the top four best coaches in the league by Rwandese publication The New Times for his tactical prowess that has seen him mastermind wins over revered top club APR FC and forcing a point out of Rayon Sport and AS Kigali.“The Kenyan trainer is one of the most efficient coaches in the league this season as he has built an exciting team at Musanze FC,” part of the publication read.
