Ten-man Nzoia Sugar hold Bandari in a four-goal thriller

Nzoia Sugar continued their impressive away record this season as they held Bandari to a two-all draw in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League match at Mbaraki Grounds to go 14th, past Ulinzi Stars, on the log.Bandari on the other hand missed an opportunity to break into the top five with the draw, and will have themselves to blame for failing to capitalize on the numerical advantage their had following the sending off of Levis Okello besides the home advantage.Joseph Mwangi and Bonface Munyendo scored for the visitors as William Wadri and Umar Kasumba put Bandari on the scoresheet. The first half was mostly balanced, with the state of the pitch quelling the home advantage for Bandari and Nzoia Sugar seemed to enjoy playing at Mbaraki, in that state.Wakulima wa miwa wamekuja na mvua yao wakaondoka na alama moja. #BandariNiYetu pic.twitter.com/mgrgPqfRfy— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) April 17, 2022 Shortly after resumption for the second half, Nzoia were reduced to 10 men after Levis Okello was given his marching orders for a foul on Dennis Magige, and thus had to play for more than 30 minutes with a man less.Magige was unable to continue following the incident and thus had to be replaced by Faraj Ominde for the better part of the second half. With a numerical advantage, Anthony Kimani saw it fit to bring in more pace and in came Abdallah Hassan for Benjamin Mosha at the stroke of the hour mark, just minutes before they conceded.Nzoia Sugar opened the scoring 63 minutes in courtesy of Joseph Mwangi with his last strike of the game but their lead lasted only a few minutes as William Wadri headed home to level the scores and get the hosts back into the game.@nzoiasugarfc2 have only lost three matches on the road. 1-0 against @UlinziStarsFC in the season opener, 3-1 against @kenyapolicefc, and 2-1 against @wazitofc. They have held @BandariOfficial despite being a man down!Their away record has been impressive!#FKFPL— Murimi Njiru (@muriminjirujnr) April 17, 2022 Even before the home team was done celebrating the first goal, Umar Kasumba who had just come on for Bandari struck the second to give Bandari the lead for the first time in the game.Things had all of a sudden gone from bad, to good, to bad, and then to worse for Nzoia Sugar.Three minutes after the Dockers had taken the lead, Nzoia Sugar were awarded a corner that Bonface Munyendo expertly dispatched to level the scores for the visitors. It was a game that both teams fought for the win through sweat and tears, even through blood but none of them walked away with all the points as the spoils were shared at full time.Bandari FC Starting XI: Michael Wanyika, Felly Mulumba, Andrew Juma, Atariza Meja, Bonface Mwangemi, Mohammed Siraj, Dennis Magige, Keegan Ndemi, Kevin Kimani, William Wadri, Darius Msagha.Subs:Joseph Ochuka, Ronny, Faraj Ominde, Brian Odera, Umar Kasumba, Johanna Mwita, Abdallah Hassan, Chris Ochieng’, AbeidNzoia Sugar Starting XI: Humphrey Katasi, Moses Mwale, Vincent Mahiga, Randy Bakari, Salim Odeka, Kevin Juma, James Kibande, Bonface Munyendo, Levis Okello, Joseph Mwangi, Felicien OkandaSubs: Benson Mangala, Kevin Maliachi, Ian Karani, Collins Wakhungu, Ian Simiyu, Daniel Wafula, Alfred Emoni Tanui, Hassan Beja
