Shaphan targeting more involvement in Tusker goals

Tusker FC midfielder Shaphan Oyugi is poised to help his side defend the Football Kenya Federation Premier League title and to do that he is planning to add more goals and assists to his tally. The Brewers are eight points behind league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz with eight matches left to play to the end of the season, and the former Kariobangi Sharks player notes that their plan as a team is to win all the remaining matches without concentrating much on the results of the other teams.“We want to defend the title of course and in the last eight matches, I want to help the team as much as I can by scoring goals. As a team we want to win all the remaining eight games and we won’t put a lot of focus on how our opponents play. The goal is to win our games,” he is quoted as saying on the club’s portal.Shaphan clearly enjoyed his goal last weekend.Guess who he dedicated it to? pic.twitter.com/t4J4w2hZtG— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) April 21, 2022 Oyugi was on target for Tusker as they downed Gor Mahia 2-0 at Narok last weekend, scoring his second goal since he joined Robert Matano’s side midway through the season after parting ways with Tanzania’s Biashara United. On top of scoring twice for the 12-time champions, Oyugi has also set up two more and is aiming at increasing the numbers in the remaining matches.“When I signed at Tusker, my aim was to help the team win matches by scoring goals and providing assists. It has not taken off as fast as I would have wished but I am happy that I am getting to score. Scoring last weekend meant a lot to me because I have been getting a lot of chances but I finally buried one and it gives me motivation,” he added. The defending champions face-off with AFC Leopards at Kasarani on Sunday starting at 3 PM EAT.
