Lavatsa, Oalo pile more misery on sorry Wazito

FC Talanta piled more misery on Wazito FC after condemning the Fred Ambani led team to a 2-0 defeat in an FKF Premier League match staged at the Kasarani Annex Grounds on Monday afternoon.Heading to the game, Wazito were seeking their first win in eight while Talanta wanted to make it two in a row after last weekend’s win over Kenya Police FC.Wazito had a couple of set pieces in the opening five minutes of the game but Rooney Onyango and Levin Odhiambo’s deliveries were dealt with by Talanta defenders.The first real opportunity came in the 11th minute when Michael Owino set up Tyson Otieno but with the goal at his mercy, the midfielder fired wide. Three minutes later, Talanta keeper Kevin Olang pulled a fantastic keeper to deny Eli Asieche. Tyson fired straight at the keeper in the 16th minute.Talanta were on the back foot for the better part of the first half and their first opportunity came in the 20th minute from a set piece situation but Brian Yakhama’s freekick from the edge of the area hit the wall.After the half hour mark, the visitors slowly grew in the game and started to cause Wazito problems with long balls into the penalty area that Fred Ambani’s side appeared to struggle to deal with. The last first half chance went Wazito’s way, Maurice Ojwang connect Tyson’s freekick but Talanta keeper pulled a huge point blank save.The first chance of the second half went Talanta’s way in the 49th minute when Dennis Oalo danced his way into the area before shooting directly at Zamu Adisa. Two minutes later Thomas Wainaina was denied by the Wazito keeper frome a freekick situation.Talanta continued to attack through aerial balls causing Wazito problems. They got the opener in the 65th minute through substitute Edwin Lavatsa who connected to an Alvin Ochieng cutback.Wazito responded by making two changes: Curtis Wekesa and Brian Musa were introduced for Michael Owino and Amos Asembeka.Talanta sealed the win three minutes from time through Oalo after a defensive mixup between keeper Adisa and defender Dennis Nandwa.
