Injury curse strikes vastly talented City Stars ace Oliver Maloba, again

Nairobi City Stars midfielder Oliver Maloba has suffered yet another injury setback and is yet to miss the remainder of the season as confirmed by the club in a statement posted on their portal.The stylish midfielder has not been at his best this campaign partly due to minor injuries that resulted in him missing five of their 28 matches so far this season. The latest setback is rib fractures that he suffered on Sunday 1 May at the Ruaraka Grounds after colliding with Kenyan Police keeper Ruben Juma during a league match that ended in a barren draw.Club physio Brian Otieno Odongo has revealed that the former Gor Mahia and Tusker FC ace will require a minimum of six weeks to fully recover from the injury and with six games left before the season comes to a close, his season is now over.“Following tests, Maloba suffered multiple fractures on two of his ribs and requires up to six weeks of total rest to heal. Let me concentrate on healing,” he stated.Coach Nicholas Muyoti lauded the player for his good performance in recent games terming his absence a challenge, he called on the other players to sep up in his absence.“Maloba had been a force, especially in our most recent games. It’s unfortunate his season has ended early due to injury. We will certainly miss him.
