Let’s break the monotony, Ottamax backs Homeboyz for the FKFPL title

Former Harambee Stars goalkeeper Mathews Ottamax wants Kakamega Homeboyz to break the monotony by winning this season’s FKF Premier League title with just six matches left before the season comes to an end.Homeboyz lead the log with 56 points, four ahead of second-placed Tusker FC who are also the defending champions. Homeboyz’s four draws in a row have seen their eight-point cushion at the top of the table vanish and risk losing their footing if they do not get their act together fast enough.Homeboyz takes onTusker FC at the Ruaraka Grounds this afternoon, a match that many argue could settle this season’s title race. A win for Tusker will cut the visitors’ lead to a point while a win for Homeboyz will stretch their advantage to seven and put them on course for a maiden title heading into the final five matches of the campaign. In an interview with Citizen, Ottamax who is never shy of giving his opinion said he hopes that the Bernard Mwalala-led outfit to end the Nairobi-based teams’ dominance by wrestling Tusker to the title. This is the current standing of the #FKFPL.The gap between @FcHomeboyz and @tusker_fc is only 4 points with 6 games to go.Will Tusker retain the league or will Homeboys became the new champions? You can vote below. pic.twitter.com/Df0BNLQWy2— Vincent Ooro (@scentor) May 2, 2022 “This is now what we call sweet football because it will be monotonous to always have a team in Nairobi winning the title year in and year out,” he stated. The former AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia keeper however admits coach Robert Matano’s experience could be an advantage to the Brewers who have not tasted a league defeat since mid-January.“It’s like a final in the FKF calendar this season, though Tusker have been winning their matches of late because they have that advantage of an experienced coach,” he added. K’Ogalo Pundit: This is the weakest Gor Mahia squad since 2008He further wants the Kakamega-based side to arrest the poor run which have come at the tail end of the season.”Homeboyz, have been performing very well but along the way they have looked like losing the ground by dropping points which are very vital at this point in time,” he added. The crunch duel kicks off at 3 PM.
