Following the 4-1 thumping at the hands of Bandari FC, Vihiga Bullets head coach Abdalla Juma lamented about the sweltering Mombasa heat which he intimated affected his players.Bullets were looking to hand themselves a boost in the relegation dog-fight with back-to-back victories after picking up a 4-3 win over Kariobangi Sharks last time out but were brought down back to earth by the Dockers.Bandari FC goalkeeper included in Burundi’s squad for AFCON qualifiersJuma admitted that the hot and humid conditions played a part in the heavy defeat to Bandari as he had to substitute some of his charges who were adversely impacted by the weather.“The weather really affected us, if you look at the performance of the boys it changed, we only played for about 45 minutes and after that, the players had to take breathers.It however got to a point when we were forced to substitute those who were affected by the weather and the change of system also did not favor us,” said Abdalla.Mombasa is a hot and humid coastal city with the low altitude bound to affect visiting teams who fail to travel on time to acclimatize to the weather.Bandari back in the FKFPL title race after win over Vihiga BulletsJuma also blamed the loss on having to take off one of his defenders during the game which scrapped his plans for the match but noted that he is looking to bounce back from the defeat in the coming games.“Substituting defenders causes lapse of concentration, I changed the system of play a bit and it worked as we got a goal but then again we collapsed but I know we will bounce back at home,” added Abdalla.
