Football fans and people from all walks of life wishing to don in the newly-launched Kakamega Homeboyz shirt will have to part with Ksh. 3,000.Homeboyz formally launched the new jersey before the Ingo Derby pitting the club and 12-time Kenyan champions AFC Leopards at Bukhungu Stadium. According to Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula, the replica shirts are available at Mama Baraka Shop in Kakamega Town and will from next be sold at Bukhungu Stadium. “We have new shirts and I urge our supporters to support the club by buying from the sanctioned points. By buying the new shirt, the club will pocket something small that will go a long way in improving the welfare of the players and cater for other needs, ” he said. The vocal administrator who unveiled the shirts alongside Mozzart Bet Country Manager Sasa Krneta, the firms head of Marketing Frank Ochieng and Homeboyz skipper Moses Mudavadi said plans were underway to have more shops opened within the Western Kenya region as well as online. “We are expanding soon for we intend to reach more fans and bring more on board. The Kakamega Homeboyz brand is growing at a good rate and thus, we have to keep up with the pace especially when it comes to having good connection with the fans,” he added. Apart from launching the new kits, Shimanyula revealed plans aimed at revamping the outfit to be fully ready for international matches in case they win a major title in future and the government reads from the same page with FIFA. “Our goal in the season has been and still remains winning the league and represents the country in the CAF Champions League if the challenges we have in football will be solved on time. Before then, I am trying my best to polish a number of areas so that we can be ready when that time comes”, he stated.
