Collins Sichenje makes long awaited debut for AIK in Sweden

Kenyan international Collins Sichenje finally got a first taste of action for his new Swedish AIK outfit albeit featuring for only one half for the team’s U19 side on Wednesday evening.Having been signed back in April 2022 and officially unveiled in May, the former AFC Leopards midfielder finally donned the AIK jersey as he was named in the junior team’s starting eleven that was selected to battle against Brommapojkarna U-19. He played as a center-back with inside sources revealing the club is eager to mold him into a ball-playing defender.In the match, the two teams ended up settling for a 2-2 stalemate with AIK now failing to get a win in their last two games. Following the barren draw, AIK stayed in 9th place on 11 points while Brommapojkarna are fourth on 14 points with Hammarby U19 topping the table on 18 points.##NAJAVA_MECA_6434566##Sichenje, who is among the Kenyan trio plying their trade at AIK that includes Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma and Henry Meja, also this week got to train with Swedish and Real Sociedad ace Alexander Isak who is keeping match fit at the club during the off season. AIK was Isak’s home in the 2016 season and it is the club that shot the youngster into limelight as it earned him a move to German giants Borussia Dortmund at the tender age of 17 back in 2017.
