2009 Premier League champions Sofapaka extended their impressive string of results after claiming a huge clap by edging Bandari FC 1-0 as head coach David Ouma opened up on the reason for their improved performances. Batoto ba Mungu made it 10 games without tasting defeat following the win with the result pushing them just a point off the top five bracket where they set their target for the season after a challenging start. Coming away and getting all three points is very important.Bandari have been having some good momentum, in the second leg we have been able to get good results against top teams,” said Ouma. The win over Bandari all but ended the Dockers’ faint hopes of lifting their maiden title and also halted their seven-game lossless streak that dated back to April. Ouma was not impressed with his charges’ first half after they squandered a number of chances but was delighted to see Stephen Okola get the match-winner three minutes into the second half. Sofapaka shot stopper set sights on sinking Bandari“In the first half, we were able to create a number of good chances and we were supposed to put the game beyond Bandari in the first half. In the second half I told my players to be more clinical and we took our first chance of the closing half, we also had another good chance but I would also commend Bandari for a good game,” added Ouma.
