Kenyatta University punch ticket to Varsity football World Cup

Kenya will have a representative in the 2023 edition of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) World Cup Soccer Games after Kenyatta University edged Makerere University in the semi-finals of the FASU (Federation of African University Sports).The finalists of the FASU Football games were assured of a ticket to the FISU World Cup Soccer Games that are set to be held in Jinjiang, People’s Republic of China next year. The win is a motivation but the pressure is still on.If we get the African University football trophy it will be a proud achievement for the boys because we don’t know when we will go to FASU again,” said Ocholla. Kenyatta University hosts 10th continental FASU GamesAfter a barren first half where both teams had chances few and far between them, Kiprono Sile opened the scoring for KU with Brian Ogutu doubling their advantage from the penalty spot. Omara Samuel set up a tense finale with his goal for Makerere University in the closing stages of the game but KU managed to hold on for the win.
