Babu issues rally call to City Stars ahead of season ender

Nairobi City Stars youngster Timothy ‘Babu’ Ouma has issued a rallying call to his teammates to ensure that they finish the season on a high note when they take on FC Talanta at Kasarani Annex on Sunday in the lunchtime kick-off.The Nicholas Muyoti-coached side has gone four matches without recording a win, their longest winless streak this season, prompting Ouma to implore his colleagues to ensure they give a good final kick on Sunday. The East African domestic leagues have been kicking off over the past month & arguably the two most outstanding players in the opening rounds have been @NrbCityStars Timothy Ouma (17) 🇰🇪 & @yangasc1935 Feisal Salum (23) 🇹🇿.Who’s impressed you in the opening rounds? pic.twitter.com/us4gwNXjsT— EA Eye (@theeaeye) October 22, 2021 In those four matches, they have played to a barren draw with Tusker, lost back-to-back matches to KCB and Gor Mahia in identical 3-2 score lines, and played to a one-all draw with AFC Leopards.“It’s been three [four] games now without a win and we need to break that cycle with a win on Sunday in our final game. It will be the perfect wrap to a tough season,” Babu is quoted saying on the club’s portal. The attacking midfielder has been directly involved in 16 goals for City Stars so far, including scoring against Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards in the two matches, and has been involved in the build up to nine more goals.“It’s always good to score unfortunately the goals in the last two games were not enough to deliver positive results. I hope to continue with that luck and finish the season as it started; with a goal,” added BabuTimothy Ouma Noor 🎩💯.Rate his performance this season 🤔👇🏾.#kefootball pic.twitter.com/KoxN7tM6aS— Kefootball_ (@Kefootball1) May 31, 2022 The 18-year-old started the season strongly, scoring in each of their first three games in the campaign against Sofapaka, Kenya Police FC, and Wazito then had his next two goals against Kakamega Homeboyz and Bandari in January and April. thus, he will be out to finish out the season like he started, scoring in the last three matches as he did in the first three.Despite not finding the back of the net as often, he has been a mainstay in the team this season, featuring in all but one match for City Stars, getting the starting nod in 29 of the matches, and playing full minutes in 17 matches.
