Tusker chairman pleads for football stalemate to be resolved

Tusker FC chairman David Aduda hopes that current confusion in Kenyan football can be resolved so that his team if declared champions can represent the country in the CAF Champions League next season.Tusker are on the verge of defending their league title as they just need to beat Posta Rangers on Sunday afternoon at the Ruaraka Grounds to be declared league champions. Their close challengers Kakamega Homeboyz will be issued with a walkover as Kariobangi Sharks will not be honouring the final league match between the two sides. Should Tusker win, the two sides will be tied at 63 points but the Brewers have a +5 goal-difference advantage meaning they just need to down the mailmen to lift the title.##NAJAVA_MECA_6450147##With Kenya currently suspended by FIFA, it means Kenya as a country and clubs in the country cannot feature in international competitions. Kenya was kicked out of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, was omitted from the CHAN qualifiers, missed out on the just concluded CECAFA Women Championship, and will miss out on CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup for next season as things stand.Aduda, whose side represented the country in the CAF Champions League earlier this season before later dropping down to the CAF Confederation Cup hopes that the standoff is resolved soon.“Right now we are focusing on the league, playing in the Champions League is not within our control. But we pray and hope the situation will be resolved quickly to allow the league winners to represent the country in the competition next season,” he told the Standard.Match Day.🆚| Posta Rangers🏟️| Ruaraka Complex🕒| 3pm EAT🎟️| Free entry if you come wearing your Tusker FC jersey.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/LKVd8ijfoP— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) June 12, 2022 Meanwhile, a special general meeting (SGM) assembled by FKF branches and clubs formed a 13-man committee that is expected to take the running of football activities in the country.
