Gueye has the total support of all Africans over homosexuality issues, claims Mane’s advisor

A little over one month after causing a stir in Western Europe over his homosexuality stand, without actually saying a word, Idrissa Gueye is again being mentioned, also without any word spoken. The PSG midfielder was mentioned by non-other than Sadio Mane’s advisor Bacary Cisse, who took his interview with RMC Sport to announce that Gueye’s action (or lack of it) in May earned him a cult status in Senegal and whole of Africa for that matter. 📍👀 A look into the Parisian locker room at the Stade de la Mosson! ⤵️ #MHSCPSG pic.twitter.com/27mpZqP2RV— Paris Saint-Germain (@PSG_English) May 14, 2022 International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia, was celebrated on Tuesday May 17, and a number of clubs, PSG included, wore special rainbow-coloured numbers on their jerseys as the club and all of French football lent their support to the International Day Against Homophobia. Idrissa Gueye didn’t play in that match due to ‘personal reasons’, but RMC Sports broke the news that he actually refused to play and wear the support shirt. More Senegal footballers support Idrissa Gueye after refusing to participate in the LGBT celebrationAnd RMC Sports journalists used the opportunity when they interviewed Sadio Mane’s advisor Bacary Cisse and asked him about the whole situation regarding Gueye’s refusal to play. “It’s a misunderstanding. We must not forget that Gueye was born in Senegal. He grew up there, he was educated there. We respect everything that others do, but we don’t follow them in their culture. Culturally, no one would have understood if he had done anything other than what he did. He’s not the only one. Today, Gueye has the total support of all Senegalese, of all Africans. In this case, we must not stigmatize the boy. He cannot justify this gesture. He was perceived as a hero in Senegal, of course. For us, Gueye is a hero” explained Cisse. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6480604##After the news broke out in May, the Western press fury was unleashed at Gueye and it got to the point where FFF asked him to take a picture of himself wearing the shirt to silence the reported rumors of his stance. And Cisse not only admitted it would have been even worse if he did that, but also blamed PSG for the whole situation, since the club already knew what would happen, as this celebration was also organized last year as well (and Gueye missed it also). “If Gueye had done otherwise, what would we have said? We would have been much more shocked. For me, the main culprit in this affair is the staff of PSG. They know that they have already had this kind of problem last year. Gueye carried out humanitarian action the day before this match (he had organised a charity evening for the fight against cancer and HIV). For me, we could spare the player from this meeting” said Cisse.
