FKF Transition Committee: We are in constructive talks with FIFA and CAF

FKF Transition Committee head of secretariat Linda Oguttu says they are close to striking a deal with world football governing body, FIFA and its continental counterpart CAF with the view of having the sanctions slapped on Kenya lifted.In February, FIFA moved to suspend Kenya after government dissolved the Nick Mwendwa led FKF and appointed a caretaker committee which later changed to FKF Transition Committee to run football activities. The temporary committees have been in charge of football in the country since 11th November.##NAJAVA_MECA_6483702##Initially their mandate was to repeal the current FKF constitution and later conduct elections but it has proved to be herculean task and the body is likely to exit the scene in August when their mandate expires. Many observe that the next government will be tasked with streamlining the game.Oguttu however insists that there will be a breakthrough soon. The journalist says that they are engaging the two bodies in talks aimed at ending the football standoff in the country. She promised that the engagements, which so far look positive will be made public soon“All I can say now is that talks aimed at resolving the existing standoff are already ongoing and we are almost reaching a deal.
