Maelo: Police FC will make a change in Kenyan football, society

Kenya Police FC team manager George Maelo has discussed the team’s mission saying they are keen on bridging the gap between the law enforcers and the public and wants Kenyans to support the team.The law enforcers, who got promoted to the top tier before the start of last season and they shook the league going for some top signings like Duncan Otieno, Musa Mohamed, Duke Abuya, Clifton Miheso among others. Things however did not go much as they had anticipated as they managed to finish in the tenth position in the log although they finished the season strongly.##NAJAVA_MECA_6492225##Their approach received criticism from some section of the stakeholders but Maelo feels that the team should be embraced more by the society. He adds that the team’s main goal is to close the gap between the police and society and want to make change through sporting activities.“We are a team keen on making a change in the society, we want to engage as many youths as possible in sports and get closer to the citizens. We want to educe gap between civilians and the police through sports. We want to make an impact, we want to bring fans back to the stadium and make match experiences colorful for the fans. The police and the people should have a healthy relationship and that is why our moto is Tucheze Tujuane,” he told Mozzart Sport.Maelo has promised even a better 2022/23 season and has termed his side a team to watch in the next campaign.“We will bring competition to the league next season, we are going to be a team to watch. We want to make fans and general public happy. We want to show the public that it is possible to serve your nation in the force and also play for the country. Getting these boys to serve the country is something we pride in and we are slowly but surely going to make a change in the society through sports,” he concluded.
