The Kirinyaga-based side wrote to the FKF Transition Committee’s Independent Appeals & Disciplinary Committee on Friday seeking to appeal the decision rendered in favor of Shabana, noting that the Committee considered evidence presented by Shabana while ignoring that of the host.Fortune were set to play Shabana at Kianyaga on June 1, 2022, at Kianyaga Stadium starting from 3 PM but the match did not kick off as indicated as a Madaraka Day event being hosted at the venue did not conclude in time for the match to take center stage which saw the visiting Shabana protest the delay in kick off time and the match was eventually called off.Unfortunate Sacco lose points to Shabana in Transition Committee boardroom decisionWhile delivering their ruling on the abandoned match, the Transition Committee’s Leagues and Competitions Committee noted that they had received material indicating that the Madaraka Day celebrations at the venue ended at 4:30 PM EAT but Fortune Sacco, in their protest letter, indicate that the function ended some minutes to 4 PM.”Contrary to what is stated in the letter from the Head of Secretariat that the function ended at 4.30pm, the County Commissioner concluded his speech some minutes to 4pm and within a short time, around 10 to 15 minutes, the field was cleared and ready for the match. Note that checking of players for both teams was done at 3pm and as such, the players were ready to walk into the pitch as soon as the function ends,” part of the letter read.
