Ulinzi Stars custodian holds clinic with upcoming keepers

Kenyan international and Ulinzi Stars custodian James Saruni held a goalkeeping session with young and upcoming keepers in Nakuru last week in an attempt to impact useful skills on them. The experienced goalkeeper was in the company of Nakuru City Queens coach James Angila and his keeper trainer Johnstone Hamulera, Nakuru County League’s FG FC goalkeeper trainer Evans Jaduu, and Fussball NaxArena coach Marko Limisi.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, the FKF Premier League custodian said that they resolved to the session to give the youth some experience training with goalkeeping trainers, something that most of them do not have the privilege to in their clubs.”It was a nice session with the young keepers and I look forward to having more of such engagements. To them, it is a big motivation to be in the presence of a goalkeeper who has won the golden glove in the Premier League and you can see it in the way they commit during the training. In their clubs, most of them do not have the privilege to have a goalkeeper trainer and I thought we could utilize this time before the season starts to impact something on them,” Saruni said. Saruni won the golden glove in the 2020/21 FKF Premier League season after keeping 11 clean sheets, one ahead of Joseph Okoth who was then turning for KCB.Last season, he managed the same number even as Ulinzi Stars went through a tough season but it was not enough to keep the accolade as Patrick Matasi kept five more with Tusker FC.
