SDT stops KPL/NSL promotion match between Wazito and Murang’a Seal

The two legged Football Kenya Federation Premier League Play Off match between Wazito FC and National Super League (NSL) side Murang’a Seal that was scheduled to take place on Saturday 30 July 2022 has been dealt a blow after the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) issued an order stopping the match from taking place in the interim.This is after Muhoroni Youth, another NSL side, filed a petition to the John Ohaga chaired tribunal with a complaint about rulings made by the FKF Transition Committee and its Independent Disciplinary Appeals Committee (IDAC) body.The Sports Disputes Tribunal has halted tomorrow’s playoff between Wazito FC and Murang’a Seal FC.Muhoroni Youth are the complainants. The matter will be mentioned on Tuesday.#NSL #FKFPL pic.twitter.com/1JKjTriQb5— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) July 29, 2022 Following their petition which was certified as being urgent, the SDT ruled to have the game immediately stopped and all respondents be served with the application before close of day on Friday 29th July, 2022.“UPON READING of the Certificate of Urgency of Cynthia Gachara, an advocate, together with the Notice of Motion Application dated 28th July 2022 and presented to this Tribunal on 29th of July 2022 by Counsel for the Applicant AND UPON READING the Supporting Affidavit of Moses Adagala sworn on the 28th of July 2022 together with the annexures thereto, ##NAJAVA_MECA_6534682##IT IS HEREBY ORDERED:i.           That the Application be and is hereby certified as urgent;ii.          That an order of temporary injunction be and is hereby issued stopping the FKF Premier League Play-off scheduled for 30th July 2022 between Muranga Seal FC and Wazito FC pending the hearing and determination of this application and the Application dated 25th July 2022 or further orders of this Tribunal; iii.         That the Application be served upon the Respondents immediately and in any event before close of day on Friday 29th July, 2022;iv.         That the matter be listed for mention for directions on Tuesday 2nd August, 2022 at 2:30p.m. via Microsoft Teams,” read the document signed by Ohaga on 29th July.The case is listed for mention for directions on 2 August.
