FKF Premier League champions Tusker FC are ready to let goalkeeper Patrick Matasi go, but only on condition that his suitors Police FC meet the valuation placed on the player by the club.Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Charles Gacheru from IMG Kenya, the agency that manages Tusker FC on behalf of EABL Limited, said that the initial offer presented to Tusker by Police does not match the player’s value and they expect fair compensation to let the custodian go.Renegade Tusker goalie Patrck Matasi holding on to Police dream”Matasi is the best keeper in this league and as a matter of fact in this region (East Africa). He has over 1 year left on his contract with Tusker so how then do we just let him go without Police meeting our valuation? That is not how football works. We have written to Police and told them we are very ready to let him go since they claim they are offering him employment. However, he is contracted to the club and therefore we expect fair compensation,” Gacheru told Mozzart Sport, “He is top player for the club and above all a leader who played a very crucial role to ensure we win the league. Ordinarily, as league champions, we would not be releasing such a player to our direct competitors but since they are offering him a job, we will release him if they buy out the contract according to our valuation. That is how football works and they know it. They (Police) have bought other players and they know how it works,” he added.Tusker threaten to punish Matasi for absconding duty deliberately##NAJAVA_MECA_6573682##Police are said to have offered Tusker Ksh 200,000, a figure that is nowhere near what The Brewers have valued Matasi. Further, Gacheru expressed his concern that the player has been caught up in the hullabaloo and is not training instead of letting the two clubs sort out the issue, professionally.”What Police did is player tapping since he is our contracted player. However, we are open to letting him go if Police meet our valuation. Meanwhile Matasi should be training, that is what professionals do. We are concerned that he is getting caught up in all this and not training,””Ordinarily he would be training with his teammates and letting the two clubs negotiate. He is an experienced player and he knows how things work but he’s being misadviced and it’s really bad. We haven’t received any letter from the player indicating an intention to buy out his contract. The only official communication we have is from Kenya Police FC and we have been talking about the issue as clubs for a while now,” he added.
