Sofapaka confirm Paul Ogai as new assistant coach

Sofapaka are set to appoint immediate former Kibera Black Stars head coach Paul Ogai as their new assistant coach, Mozzart Sport can report.Ogai has been a free agent since parting ways with Black Stars and he is now set to join Batoto ba Mungu’s bench as an assistant to David Ouma who worked without a permanent assistant coach when he took over as the interim boss in February.Ouma, who stepped in as Ken Odhiambo’s replacement on the temporary in February has since been confirmed as the permanent coach. During the interim period, he was deputized by Hillary Echesa who also doubled up as the team manager but he will now have a full-time assistant in Ogai.Ogai has previously coached Western Stima, Coast Stima, Palos FC, and Kisumu All-Stars among other teams, and in 2019 he led Stima back to the top tier when they topped the National Super League. He has informed us of his decision to bring Ogai on board but we have not finalized things at this point but I can confirm that there are ongoing talks between us and the coach,” Kalekwa told Mozzart Sport.The club is also sourcing for a sponsor after losing their sole sponsor a month ago. The club will also be keen on replacing a number of key players who have left the club.
