One Senegalese in, one Guinean out in Leipzig

Slowly but surely, RB Leipzig finished its transfer period until January 2023. The Germans made five transfers in this period and today, on the last day (the Germans finish on September 1st at 19h), they brought in Abdou Diallo from Paris Saint Germain on loan. The Senegalese defender will cost Leipzig around 1.5 million euros for the duration of the loan, and the Parisians have decided they he could be let go permanently, so if the German club is pleased with him to come May 2023, they can buy him for 22 million euros. 🗣️ @Abdou_diallo_: “A great challenge and an exciting season lie ahead of us.”More on our new signing 🗞️⤵️🔴⚪ #WeAreLeipzig— RB Leipzig English (@RBLeipzig_EN) September 1, 2022 The beauty of this deal is that Leipzig brought in an experienced player, who won’t need any adjusting period, since he played in Bundesliga already, for Mainz and Borussia Dortmund from 2017 until 2019. “I know RB and the club’s game philosophy well from the duels with Mainz, Dortmund and Paris. Now I’m very happy to be part of this strong team and to be able to play in the RBL jersey in the Red Bull Arena. It’s nice to be back in the Bundesliga” said Diallo after arrival. Ilaix Moriba will return to @valenciacf_en on loan until the end of the season ✍️All the best in Spain, @IlaixMK! 🔴⚪ #WeAreLeipzig pic.twitter.com/rm8DWnWuB9— RB Leipzig English (@RBLeipzig_EN) September 1, 2022 While the once French but now Senegalese international came in, another once Spanish but now Ghanaian international left the club. A huge talent, but an even bigger disappointment, Ilaix Moriba has left the club, again on loan and again to Valencia. The highly talented youngster wanted to get too much money out of cash-strapped Barcelona when the contract renewal negotiations began, so he was shipped to Leipzig last August for 16 + potential 6 million euros, with 10% to Barcelona from the next sale. He was hugely disappointed and left for Valencia on loan already in January. He was supposed to come back and fight for his place in Leipzig, but when Valencia called again, the club decided to send him on a season-long loan, and not sell him. He will have his last chance with the Germans in June 2023. ##NAJAVA_MECA_6606918##
