KSSSA: Bogey St. Anthony’s see off Laiser as Wiyeta, Itigo set up final date

St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale are through to the Rift Valley region football final after edging out Laiser High from Kajiado 4-3 in the semifinal played at Nakuru High School.The kick-off of the match between the reigning national champions and 2016 champions Laiser was delayed as St. Anthony’s protested the inclusion of two players in Laiser’s squad whom they claim were ineligible.##NAJAVA_MECA_6615878##The players in question are former St. Anthony’s defender David Leon and a player identified as Woi whom the Saints technical bench claim sat for his KCSE exams at Musingu Hih School and was thus ineligible to play for Laiser.The match nonetheless progress with the Saints playing under protest having lodged an official complaint with the games organizers who promised to investigate and deliver a ruling. Should they be found guilty, they face a ban from the next edition.The match was largely a cagey affair with the two giants of Rift-Valley School football cautious not to make mistakes. Without goals both in regulation and extra time, the match had to be settled from the spot where St. Anthony’s progressed to the final.
