George Owoko among half dozen coaches drooling for Kibera Black Stars job

Former Tusker assistant coach George Owoko is in a pole position to run away with the coaching job at National Super League side Kibera Black Stars.Kibera were rendered coachless after Paul Ogai ditched the outfit for the 2009 Kenyan champions Sofapaka where he agreed to deputise head coach David Ouma.Following the unceremonious exit of Ogai who joined the slum boys in February, the club invited interested applicants for the vacant head coach job which according to the Secretary General, Daniel Magara has attracted scores of tactician.##NAJAVA_MECA_6615457##Impeccable sources indicate that Owoko who is not new to second tier football having nearly taken Nairobi Stima to the top flight four seasons ago is among those who have been shortlisted.Magara revealed that the club will bring on board a tactician bearing at least a Confederation of African Football (CAF) level C coaching badge.”We have a good number of local coaches who have expressed interest in the job. We are still perusing through their profiles and will pick the suitable one soon. Our bare minimum when it comes to qualification is the CAF C coaching license,” he said.Gor Mahia coach lauds youngsters again!Besides bringing a new coach on board, the administrator disclosed their player transfer plan before the window closes.He said the club will sign at least eight new players in a bid to inject vigour and the experience needed to gain automatic promotion to the top flight.Kibera, have already lost their last season’s top scorer in Samuel Kapen who joined Football Kenya Federation Premier League side Nairobi City Stars.”We have lost a key forward who we have to replace.
