Bad boy Arnautovic hits a double to save Bologna, but they remain winless

Marko Arnautovic has always been one of those “loud” characters. He drives the most expensive cars, and gets into verbal and physical altercations with just about everyone, but at the end of the day, he’s good at his job, which is primarily putting the ball in the back of the net. The Bologna striker scored the first and the last goal in an entertaining Serie A 2-2 draw at Spezia on Sunday afternoon, but his efforts proved insufficient for Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team to take their first maximum of the campaign.

Mihajlovic had to settle with a point, partly due to a sensational own goal by his midfielder Jerdy Schouten and some mistakes in Spezia’s third. Spezia, however, deserved the point, especially in the first half. The hosts played with bravery despite conceding an early goal. But Luca Gotti’s team is still struggling to create chances and that’ll be their main concern going forward.Bologna’s experienced Chilean midfielder Gary Medel threadded a ball perfectly for Arnautovic to run clear, round goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski and slot home.

But Rossoblu played a big part in their own undoing yet again. Spezia’s Simone Bastoni equalised with a long-range strike, aided by Lukasz Skorupski being unsighted by his own players. When Schouten inexplicably diverted another Bastoni free kick into his own net, the red flags were up. But Arnautovic saved his team with another good finish after he outrun the entire Aquilotti defence and found the net through the legs of Dragowski. There were penalty appeals from the hosts in stoppages when Kevin Agudelo went down under a Jhon Lucumi challenge, but the referee waved play on and there seemed to be very little in it.SERIE A – MATCHDAY 5SaturdayFiorentina – Juventus 1-1 (1-1)/Kouame 29 – Milik 9/Milan – Inter 3-2 (1-1)/Leao 28, 60, Giroud 54 – Brozovic 21, Dzeko 67/Lazio – Napoli 1-2 (1-1)/Zaccagni 4 – Min-jae 38, Kvaratskhelia 61/Sunday Cremonese – Sassuolo 0-0Spezia – Bologna 2-2 (1-1)/Bastoni 45, Schouten 54 og – Arnautovic 6, 64/19.00: (2.14) Verona (3.50) Sampdoria (3.80)21.45: (4.20) Udinese (3.60) Roma (1.99)Monday 19.30: (6.25) Monza (4.30) Atalanta (1.61)19.30: (2.40) Salernitana (3.35) Empoli (3.30)21.45: (1.84) Torino (3.70) Lecce (5.00)***odds are subject to change
