2019 Under 16 school games champions, Wiyeta Girs High School exerted their dominance further in the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSA) after claiming their 10th national school games title after beating Dagoretti Mixed High School 4-1 on post-match penalties after a barren draw in the final game played in Nakuru on Monday morning.Wiyeta booked a place in the final following an emphatic 6-0 win over Igito Girls High School which was a repeat of the Western Region final than was still win by the former.KSSSA: Wiyeta Girls and Dagoretti Mixed book place in the football finalDagoretti Mixed however had Fascilia Odhiambo to thank after her fourth minute goal proved to be the match winner in a tense semi final against St. Maurice Mwira High School.KSSSA Games: Kamusinga reclaim girls’ handball titleThe first half of the encounter was tense with both teams struggling to settle their nerves as the players looked to be overjoyed by the occasion.The half drew to a close with both teams locked in a barren draw as the teams created few chances as both goalkeepers were pedestrian in the half with little efforts coming their way.Wiyeta woke up from their slumber in the second half as they camped inside the Dagoretti Mixed half and created a number of chances but the latter’s well drilled defense stood tall at anything thrown at them as they game proceeded to extra time.KSSSA: Koyonzo claim maiden rugby 7s titleNothing could separate both sides in extra time after both teams struggled to create chances in the 30 minutes.Dagoretti Mixed only managed to score one of their penalties as Wiyeta were spot on with their kicks putting the ball in the back of net in all occasions.
