Despite failing to play test matches as earlier planned, Kenya Police FC head coach Samuel ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has laid bare the positives picked from their last month’s ten-day stay in Rwanda.Police were set to tackle Rwandese side Rayon Sports in a pre-season friendly match at Nyamirambo Stadium, Kigali but the match was called off owing to the suspension imposed on Kenyan football by FIFA who cautioned members against engaging with FKF or its affiliates until the country is struck off the bad books.##NAJAVA_MECA_6642535##Pamzo said the trip helped improve the chemistry levels between his players and gave him the chance to see all his players train for the first time since taking over the reins in March.Police recruited a handful of players in the recently shut transfer window and are hoping to have those in college in the team on full-time basis possibly by the end of the year after graduating.“The experience in Rwanda was good for me as all the players including the new and those in police training traveled. There are players whom I had not interacted with before but I at least understand their strengths and weakness,” he said.Otieno optimistic of securing deals in January after leaving WazitoPamzo further, said the camp went a long way in preparing for their long-term plan of featuring in continental matches. The former Gor Mahia assistant coach noted that players who have been exposed to such kind of pre-season camps rarely succumb to stage fright in continental matches.“Having the team train in Rwanda shows how serious we are for the new season and our ambition to play in continental matches. It is my believe that the club will be playing at the international stage in future and having such kind of camps do help get the players ready by eliminating stage fright,” he added.
