Duke Abuya on the double as Police lose to Bidco

Big spenders Kenya Police FC surrendered a two goal cushion to lose 2-3 gainst Bidco United in a pre-season encounter staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday 17 September.The game was off to a slow start as both teams took some time to settle into the game but Police started dictating the tempo of the game after the opening 10 minutes with Bidco struggling to make use of the few chances they created.One million shillings at stake as six FKFPL sides battle in pre-season tournamentPolice were awarded a penalty in the 21st minute when Collins Marita brought down David Simiyu in what looked a soft penalty.Duke Abuya whose move to Tanzania outfit Singida Big Stars hit a snag stepped up to take the penalty and expertly dispatched it to send Edwin Mukholwe the wrong the way.With wind in their sails, Police wasted no time in doubling their advantage as a quick throw from Baraka Badi onto the patch of Duke Abuya caught the Bidco defense napping as the former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder took some time before firing his volley that trickled in despite Mukholwe best effort to save it.Bidco created a chance out of nothing, three minutes to the half time whistle when Peter Nzuki’s pass found Brian Nyakan who beat the offside trap to score in the near post as Police teams went into the half time break leading 2-1.Zico coy on KCB’s title chances next seasonBidco resumed the second half a different beast after both teams changed their entire line ups and restored parity at the stroke of the hour mark when they capitalized on a defensive mishap to allow Michael Bodo to tap home the equalizer.In the dying minutes of the game, both teams had chances to claim a victory with David Orem seeing his efforts saved twice in quick succession while Clinton Kinanga’s feeble shot saved.Police were vulnerable at the back as they allowed Bidco to create chance after chance which they finally took in the 87th minute when David Orem’s glancing header found the back of the net after a cross from Samuel Ndung’u.
