Pulisic rips into Tuchel, Kounde says he preferred Xavi over the German

Maybe the timing of Thomas Tuchel’s sacking was wrong (yes it was), but weeks after the dismissal of the German tactician from the already outspoken American owner Todd Boehly new reports are appearing and they are usually about his personal relations with players. Even before his appointment at Stamford Bridge, sources from PSG were saying his working methods were not so great, but former owner Roman Abramovich took the shot and Tuchel got him the Champions League trophy straight away. And now, we have two more interesting stories about the German, one from his former player and one from his potential transfer target, which give us more details about the former Blues coach.Tuchel honest like never: “I’m devastated”Cristian Pulisic is one of Chelsea players who certainly wasn’t sad when Tuchel was giving his marching orders. The American winger was not in his plans and was nearly loaned out during the transfer window, but it was the broken promise from the German which really irked Pulisic. He explained it in his upcoming autography ‘Christian Pulisic: My Journey So Far’, and it was about their two-leg game in the Champions League against Real Madrid. In the first game, he scored a goal even thou he heard Tuchel shouting at him not to attack and he was promised to start in the second leg, but…Pulisic on the Goal in the 1st Leg: “But as I take off on the run,I hear Thomas Tuchel yelling from the sideline, “Christian, stay in the pocket, don’t make the run!” But I just had the feeling I’d find the space & get on the end of the pass,so I continued the run.” [ProSoccerWire] pic.twitter.com/2Bc1qmXEib— CFCDaily (@CFCDaily) September 20, 2022 “What happened before that game was hugely disappointing for me. I’d had a really good first leg performance and our following match was against Fulham in the league. Tuchel told me that he was resting me for the second leg and as a result I didn’t play a single minute in the Fulham game. Then on match day of the second semi, Tuchel tells me he’s changed his mind and he’s going with Kai Havertz. I honestly was dumbfounded and very disappointed. I thought that I’d earned a start and, most importantly, he had assured me previously I was going to start. So by the time he brought me on with about 25 minutes left, I was just so wound up” wrote Pulisic. Sacking coaches over the years cost Chelsea 150 millionOn the other side we have another interesting story concerning a potential transfer target – Jules Kounde. The Frenchman was sought by Chelsea twice, but Seville didn’t want to sell him the first time, in January 2022, to the anger of the player himself. But in July, things changed. Barcelona became interested and Kounde had to decide. And apart from the fact he liked the Catalonians more, he also counted in the talk he had with both coaches, and again chose Barcelona – because of Xavi.“I was interested in being part of this new wave, in search of titles, and to put Barca back where it has always been, among the best. Then there was the conversation with Xavi. We talked about football, mainly. I felt a real confidence, a real knowledge of myself, game and my qualities. I spoke with Tuchel and I also felt that he wanted me to come but I simply preferred Xavi’s speech” said Kounde.New Chelsea owner blames Marina Granovskaia for club’s defensive woesAnd if we add the recent reports by Sportsmail, that a number of Chelsea’s wide players did not like playing on their former coach’s side of the pitch, as they were sick of Tuchel’s ‘constant barking and moaning’, then maybe his sacking was not so unreasonable after all.##NAJAVA_MECA_6660754##
