AFC Leopards youngster set to resume training

AFC Leopards defender Kayci Odhiambo will resume training soon after five months on the sidelines, the club’s doctor Patrick Ngusale has revealed.Odhiambo has been out for the last five months after undergoing surgery. A knee injury picked against 18th April against Wazito FC at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani resulted in him undergoing a knee op and has been on the recovery path ever since.According to the long-serving team doctor, the player is on a good recovery path and is set to resume training soon for light sessions before he starts training with the rest of the squad. In an earlier interview the played had said that he is targeting a return to competitive football in January 2023.“Kayci will be joining the rest of the team very soon and from now I will be conducting some light training with him. So far, I’m not a busy person as far as injuries are concerned,” Ngusale told Citizen.Kayci Odhiambo is class above all the young central defenders in this country.Interestingly he’s naturally a midfielder.#FKFPL pic.twitter.com/QIdiwbgdJM— Ole Teya (@Kevin_teya) April 3, 2022 Jaffari Owiti recently returned to the team after over a year on the sidelines and Odhiambo and Dan Sunguti who recently underwent surgery are the only players sidelined.“Jaffari (Owiti) has been out for about nine months but now he has returned after healing fully while Kayci has been out for the last about five months and as things are now he is set to return in the next few weeks,” he added.Odhiambo joined Ingwe before the start of last season and went on to become a cog in Ingwe’s defence.
