Pitso Mosimane moves to Saudi Arabia

Three months after parting ways with record African champions, Al Ahly, South African tactician Pitso Mosimane has a new home; the tactician has taken over as the first team coach of Saudi club, Al Ahli for an undisclosed period of time.Mosimane replaces veteran Saudi coach Yousef Anbar who has parted ways with the club. The second-tier club has announced his arrival through a social media post.“Welcome, Coach. Pitso Mosimane is the new manager of our first football team,” read the brief social media post.Pitso began his coaching career in 2001 with SuperSport United of South Africa and lasted for six years, he also served as an assistant coach of the Bafana Bafana between 2006 and 2010. He moved to Egypt in 2020 and bagged back-to-back CAF CL titles; in 2022 however, Wydad AC denied him a third CAF CL title in a row when they went down to the Moroccan side in the final.Al Ahli was founded in 1937 and have three league titles to their name. They currently feature in the second tier of Saudi football after their relegation at the end of the 2021-22 season.
