Sixteen coaches hired and fired in a decade – Slaven Bilic is the next for Watford

Watford hired English coach Rob Edwards four months ago with the task of returning promptly to the Premier League. But we’ve seen it all before. Only nine matches into his reign, Edwards is out after being sacked by the notorious club owners, the Pozzo family.##NAJAVA_MECA_6667961##The 39-year-old head coach was instantly replaced by Slaven Bilic, just 15 minutes after the club confirmed his dismissal. Edwards was installed to replace Roy Hodgson, who could not prevent relegation from the Premier League last season. However, he didn’t convince the eccentric Italians that he’s got what it takes to lead the team to promotion. Watford are 10th in the Championship, having won just three of their opening ten league matches. The man to succeed Edwards is 54-year-old Slaven Bilic, who’s been given an 18-month contract. Former Croatia international and coach most recently worked in England when he guided West Bromwich Albion to promotion in the 2019/20 season. He also managed West Ham United in the Premier League, collecting coaching experience abroad in between times at Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia and most recently in China with Beijing Guoan. He’s also managed in Russia and his homeland Croatia.📝 DEAL DONE: Watford have confirmed Slaven Bilić as the new Head Coach on an 18-match deal.No sorry. That’s supposed to say 18-month.
