For the fourth time within a space of a month, the Football Kenya Federation Transition Committee has once again announced the postponement of the 2022-2023 season.This follows a decision by Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) clubs not to take part in a league that has not been sanctioned by FIFA.Face saving FKF Transition Committee embarks on charm offensive with list of ‘achievements’The country is currently serving a FIFA suspension for government interference in football after the outgoing Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed disbanded FKF on grounds of misappropriation of public funds.The League was set to kick off on Saturday 1 October after the committee postponed the earlier date of Saturday 24 September due to the ongoing KECOSO games.##NAJAVA_MECA_6677521##The committee however failed to release the new kick off dates as it cited requests by a number of clubs to postpone the league to allow for time to solve uncertainties in the league.“Please note that the kick off of the 2022/2023 league season has been postponed to a date that will be communicated soon. The committee has received several requests from clubs to postpone the league until the uncertainty surrounding the league is addressed,” reads a statement by the committee partly, “The committee would like to inform clubs that the request has been granted and league kick off date will be communicated once all stakeholders agree on a way forward. We thank you for your continued support and understanding,” it adds.The league was initially set to kick off on Saturday 27 August but was pushed to Saturday 10 September which followed two subsequent postponements.
