SDT awards Gor Mahia abandoned Vihiga Bullets match

Sports Dispute Tribunal (SDT) has reversed the FKF Caretaker Committee decision to award Vihiga Bullets FC last season’s abandoned Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) game against Gor Mahia.The match played at the Kasarani in February did not resume after half time after Vihiga Bullets alleged lack of enough security. Earlier before the breather, there was fan unrest which saw the proceedings temporarily halted, however, normalcy was restored.Vihiga Bullets awarded their abandoned match against Gor Mahia.The match was abandoned at halftime due to fans’ unrest. The respondent (Vihiga Bullets FC) is responsible for abandoning the match, and shall forfeit the match as per the rules and regulations governing football 2019.” A statement by the SDT reads. SDT has now ordered that Gor Mahia be awarded the match on a 2-0 basis with the FKF directed to comply with the orders.##EDITORS_CHOICE##Vihiga Bullets did not participate in the SDT proceedings.The extra three points will however not change Gor Mahia’s third place finish in the 2021/22 FKFPL season despite taking their points tally to 61, four points shy of second placed Kakamega Homeboyz.
